This Yamaha KX-393 stereo cassette deck, released in the late 1990s, offers a capable solution for recording and playback. It features a two-head configuration within a single well, designed for standard compact cassette tapes.

The deck supports normal, CrO₂, and Metal tape types, providing flexibility for different recording needs. It incorporates Dolby B and C noise reduction systems to minimise hiss, alongside Dolby HX Pro for enhanced high-frequency headroom during recording.

For optimising playback quality, a Play Trim control is included, allowing adjustments to the high-frequency response of tapes recorded elsewhere. Convenience features include bidirectional intro scan and music search, as well as CD/tape synchro-start functionality for easy duplication or integrated playback setups.
