We are pleased to offer for sale this used Thorens TD 165C Turntable fitted with an Ortofon VNL Moving Magnet Cartridge.

It is supplied in its original box and packaging with mains cable, RCA lead, turntable lid and instruction manual included.

This has been tested and is in full working order. It is sold with a 3 month warranty.

The general cosmetic condition is good. There are a small number of marks on the turntable and turntable lid. Please see images for further details.

First produced in the 1970s, it was designed as a more accessible version of the renowned TD 160, incorporating the same effective suspended sub-chassis system. This design provides excellent isolation from external disturbances, contributing to a refined and engaging sound signature.

The TD 165C features a reliable belt-drive system powered by a synchronous AC motor, offering manual speed selection for 33 ⅓ and 45 RPM records. Operation is entirely manual, allowing for precise control over your listening experience. It is fitted with the factory dust cover and the original Thorens TP-11 tonearm, a low-mass design complemented by a straightforward anti-skate mechanism. The platter assembly includes a substantial outer platter and a resin sub-platter.

This particular unit is supplied with an Ortofon VNL moving magnet cartridge. Engineered for demanding applications, this cartridge is known for its robust construction and ability to track grooves effectively with minimal wear on your records.
