This Technics "Z" System offers a complete vintage hi-fi setup, combining classic Japanese audio engineering with a cohesive aesthetic. The system allows for a modular approach, enabling users to build a uniform stack of high-fidelity stereo components. This particular configuration includes a turntable, amplifier, tuner, cassette deck, and a pair of bookshelf speakers, all designed to complement each other.
The core of the system is the Technics SU-Z1 integrated amplifier, providing ample power for the included speakers and featuring a built-in phono stage for direct connection to the turntable. The SL-B2 turntable offers a reliable belt-drive mechanism for playing vinyl records, complemented by the ST-Z1L tuner for radio reception, including Long Wave bands. Completing the audio playback is the RS-M5 cassette deck, which supports Metal tape for higher fidelity recordings.
The system is presented with the SH-517 rack, a dedicated piece of furniture designed to house these components neatly, often featuring storage for vinyl records and a protective glass door. The SB-3030 are 3-way bookshelf speakers, designed to deliver a balanced sound profile and commonly paired with Technics systems of this era.
