This is a Technics SU-X950 stereo integrated amplifier, a vintage unit from the late 1980s. Originally part of the premium Technics System X-950 stacking system, this Midi-sized amplifier was manufactured in Japan. It employs Technics' distinctive "New Class A" amplification circuitry, designed to deliver clean audio performance. An internal cooling fan is incorporated to manage heat during operation.

The SU-X950 offers a useful selection of inputs, catering to various audio sources. It includes a dedicated phono stage for connecting a turntable with an MM cartridge, alongside line-level inputs for CD players, tuners, and auxiliary devices. There are also twin tape loops, suitable for connecting tape decks or DAT recorders. For sound shaping, it provides standard bass, treble, and balance controls, a "Super Bass" enhancer, and a loudness function. A unique feature is its basic surround sound capability, with additional outputs for a simulated 4-channel experience.
