This Soundcraft Compact 4 is an analogue desktop mixer designed for project studios, computer-based recording setups, and zero-latency monitoring applications. Its compact form factor makes it suitable for smaller workspaces.

The mixer features two mono channels, each equipped with an XLR microphone input, a 1/4" line input, and a switchable Hi-Z/DI input for direct connection of instruments like guitars and basses. Two stereo channels are provided, utilising paired RCA connectors. These can be configured for standard line-level signals or for direct connection of turntables via an RIAA equaliser.

Monitoring capabilities include zero-latency direct monitoring, with a blend control allowing users to mix between incoming signals and playback from their computer. Separate headphone outputs are available for both the artist and engineer. The unit also offers a 3-band EQ on all input channels for tone shaping.
