The Sansui SR-212 is a respected vintage turntable from the mid-1970s, originating from Japan. This two-speed, belt-driven model is recognised for its solid construction and attractive wood-effect plinth. It was engineered to offer excellent audio quality at an accessible price point, combining user-friendly operation with sound engineering principles.

This turntable features a semi-automatic system. You initiate playback by manually placing the tonearm on the record. At the conclusion of the vinyl, the tonearm will automatically lift and return to its resting position, simplifying the listening experience.

The tonearm itself is a statically balanced S-shaped tube design. It incorporates a direct-reading tracking force gauge and an anti-skating mechanism. Speed selection between 33 and 45 RPM is managed via a mechanical switch. To minimise unwanted noise and feedback, the SR-212 employs a suspension system with rubber insulators designed to absorb vibrations.
