It combines a traditional analogue amplifier with custom-designed full-range drivers housed in a hand-crafted bass-reflex cabinet. This revision benefits from an enhanced processor and refined internal circuitry, aiming for improved sound clarity and a broader stereo image.

Beyond its core sound capabilities, the R3S offers versatile playback options. It includes a slot-loading CD player compatible with standard audio CDs and home-burned discs containing MP3, WAV, or AAC files. Its SmartRadio tuner provides access to FM, DAB/DAB+, and internet radio stations, alongside a dedicated podcast explorer. Wireless connectivity is handled via Wi-Fi for streaming services like Spotify Connect, Amazon Music, and Deezer, and Bluetooth 5 for direct audio streaming from mobile devices.

Connectivity extends to a rear panel featuring an optical digital input for external sources like televisions, switchable RCA auxiliary inputs for devices such as turntables, a USB-C port for playback or charging, and a subwoofer output. Control is managed through the tactile RotoDial on top, the included remote, or the Oktiv smartphone app, all displayed on a clear, auto-dimming OLED screen.
