The Rega Apollo is a highly regarded CD player known for its musical and analogue-like sound. First released in 2005 by British manufacturer Rega Research, the Apollo has seen several successful updates over the years. Though no longer in production, it remains a popular choice for its solid construction, quality digital-to-analogue conversion, and distinctive top-loading mechanism.

This model features a unique manual lid that opens upwards, offering a different operational experience compared to standard tray-loading players. Inside, it employs the Wolfson WM8742 DAC chip, which contributes to its detailed and natural sound reproduction. The custom disc operating system is designed to optimise laser tracking and error correction for each disc played.

The Apollo's design incorporates a half-width aluminium chassis, making it a neat fit alongside other compact hi-fi components. For connectivity, it provides standard analogue RCA outputs, as well as digital optical and coaxial outputs, allowing for connection to external digital-to-analogue converters.
