Mordaunt-Short CS-1 are compact, passive bookshelf speakers, originally part of the brand's Home Entertainment (HE) Series. These speakers were conceived by the esteemed British audio manufacturer Mordaunt-Short as a space-saving solution for various audio applications. They are well-suited for use as rear channel speakers in a home cinema system, as desktop monitors, or as near-field listening speakers in smaller spaces.

Constructed with a robust black plastic cabinet and a matching black fabric grille, the CS-1 speakers are designed for durability. They are lightweight, making them easy to position. For connection, they utilise standard wired audio inputs compatible with banana plugs.

The sound signature of the CS-1 is characterised by a clear and precise audio presentation, with a particular focus on detail in the mid and high frequency ranges. While their compact design means they do not produce deep bass, rolling off around 80 Hz, they are an excellent candidate for pairing with a separate subwoofer for a more complete home theatre experience.
