It was often integrated with Meridian's 563 or 566 DACs to form a sophisticated audiophile setup.

The MK2 iteration of this transport features an enhanced triple-beam laser assembly for improved disc reading. It also includes a high-quality AES/EBU digital output, presented via an XLR connector, alongside its standard digital outputs. The unit employs a precise internal software system to minimise jitter, ensuring accurate data transfer. Its smooth drawer-loading mechanism contributes to a refined user experience.

Control is managed via the Meridian System Remote (MSR) handset. The unit can also be configured to operate with Meridian's older 200 and 600 series equipment.
