This is a Marantz 1072 integrated stereo amplifier, a vintage unit originally manufactured in Japan between 1978 and 1980. It is offered for spares or repairs. The amplifier is recognised for its characteristic warm sound profile from the era, and features a distinctive control layout that includes slider potentiometers for tone and balance settings.
The unit provides 36 watts RMS per channel into an 8-ohm load. It includes specific provisions for vinyl playback, featuring two independent Moving Magnet (MM) phono inputs. This dual input design allows for the connection of two turntables or the convenient switching between different cartridge setups.
Additional features include a loudness control and a 20 Hz subsonic filter, designed to reduce low-frequency rumble that can affect speaker performance. The amplifier has a brushed silver aluminium front panel and a black cabinet.
