The KRK Classic 7 is a 73-watt active studio monitor, designed for detailed audio work including production, mixing, and critical listening. This model draws inspiration from KRK's well-regarded earlier monitor designs, opting for a user-friendly, analogue control setup rather than digital interfaces. It offers a neutral frequency response for accurate sound reproduction, with an additional bass boost option for adding weight to the low end when desired.

The monitor features a 7-inch woofer constructed from a glass aramid composite material, paired with a 1-inch textile soft dome tweeter. Power is delivered via a bi-amplified Class A/B system, totalling 73 watts. For connectivity, it provides balanced XLR and 1/4" TRS inputs, alongside unbalanced RCA connections.

On the rear panel, physical rotary controls allow for straightforward adjustments to the sound profile. Users can tailor the high-frequency response with a dedicated switch offering four settings, and manage the low frequencies with another four-position control that includes a bass boost. A separate knob provides precise control over the overall system volume. The front-firing slot-loaded bass port is designed to minimise issues with bass build-up, particularly in environments with limited space. An included foam isolation pad helps to decouple the monitor from surfaces, reducing unwanted vibrations.
