This Kenwood KX-W4050 is a dual cassette deck, originally released in 1992, designed to integrate into a home audio setup. It offers practical functionality for cassette users, including the ability to copy tapes from one deck to another and automated playback features.

The unit features auto-reverse on both decks, meaning playback will automatically continue on the other side of the tape without manual intervention. For enhanced audio quality, it incorporates Dolby B and C noise reduction systems to minimise tape hiss. Additionally, Dolby HX Pro is included to optimise high-frequency recording levels, aiming to reduce distortion and improve clarity.

A Computer Controlled Recording System (CCRS) is also present, which can synchronise with compatible Kenwood CD players to automatically set appropriate recording levels for dubbing. The deck supports standard (Type I), chrome (CrO2), and metal tapes.
