This is a pre-owned ITT HiFi 8022M stereo cassette deck, a vintage piece of audio equipment dating from the early 1980s. Although branded as ITT Schaub-Lorenz, this unit was manufactured in Japan by Sanyo. The "M" in its model name indicates compatibility with Type IV Metal cassette tapes, offering enhanced audio performance over standard models.

The deck features a robust construction, weighing 8.5 kg and presented in a champagne/silver metal casing. It employs a front-loading design with two heads and two motors. For operation, it includes mechanical tape loading and a full auto-shutoff mechanism. Audio monitoring is facilitated by dual analogue VU meters, and the unit incorporates Dolby B noise reduction to minimise tape hiss.

Connectivity is via DIN sockets, typical for European Hi-Fi systems of the period, and it also supported a wired remote control. The frequency response varies depending on the tape type used, ranging from 30 Hz to 15 kHz for normal tapes, up to 17 kHz for Metal tapes.
