The Goldring Lenco GL78 is a respected vintage turntable from the 1970s, building upon the design of the well-known GL75. It features a substantial platter and an idler-drive system, offering reliable performance. A notable enhancement over its predecessor is the inclusion of a semi-automatic auto-stop function.
This turntable provides precise speed control, with a variable pitch adjustment allowing fine-tuning beyond the standard 16, 33⅓, 45, and 78 RPM settings. This flexibility is particularly useful for playing older recordings that may not adhere to conventional speeds. The GL78 also incorporates a damped suspension system within its chassis to help isolate the playback mechanism from external vibrations.
Included with the turntable is an Audio-Technica AT-VMN95C cartridge. This features a 0.6 mil conical stylus, designed for robust and consistent performance. The VM95 series offers a modular design, allowing for easy stylus upgrades within the same cartridge body.
