The Denon DJ SC5000 Prime is a professional, standalone DJ media player and controller. It operates using the Engine DJ OS and was the first unit to offer dual-layer playback, enabling the simultaneous mixing of two tracks from a single device, each with its own independent audio output. While its performance pads and laptop-free operation might lead some to call it a controller, it functions as a complete, self-contained club deck.

This unit analyses music files directly on board, calculating beat grids, musical keys, and BPM without the need for a laptop, thanks to its internal multi-core processor. Navigation and track selection are handled via a 7-inch HD touchscreen that supports intuitive gestures like swiping and pinch-to-zoom. For performance, it features eight expressive rubber pads for cueing, looping, slicing, and rolling. The centrepiece is an 8-inch capacitive metal jog wheel with adjustable tension and a central display for artwork or branding.

The SC5000 Prime offers versatile playback options. In standalone mode, it can access music from three USB ports and one SD card slot, reading files prepared for Rekordbox and Serato. When used as a controller, it integrates seamlessly with Serato DJ Pro and VirtualDJ via USB, with the touchscreen mirroring your laptop's library.
