The Cambridge Audio CXC is a specialised CD transport engineered to retrieve digital audio data from compact discs with exceptional precision. By omitting an onboard Digital-to-Analogue Converter (DAC), it focuses solely on outputting an unadulterated digital signal. This allows you to pair it with your preferred external amplifier or standalone DAC, ensuring a clean signal path.

This single-minded design approach results in a remarkably stable power supply and minimises internal interference. The outcome is a significant enhancement in sonic performance, offering a compelling upgrade for your digital audio setup without the need for a separate CD player with an integrated DAC.

The CXC features a custom S3 servo disc drive mechanism, a component also found in Cambridge Audio's premium Azur 851C model, contributing to reliable and accurate disc reading. It supports standard CD playback, including gapless playback for seamless listening experiences.

- Dedicated CD transport with no onboard DAC
- S/PDIF coaxial and TOSLINK optical digital outputs
- Custom S3 servo disc drive
- Gapless playback support
