The Cambridge Audio Azur 650C is a well-regarded CD player, originally released around 2009. It was engineered to retrieve the maximum detail from your discs, aiming for a neutral, dynamic, and transparent sound. The build quality is a notable feature, with a substantial brushed aluminium front panel and a wrap-around case design that gives it a premium feel.

Internally, the 650C employs dual Wolfson WM8740 DACs, configured for high-fidelity conversion. It uses a dedicated S3 servo system for stable disc reading, minimising jitter. The player also offers user-selectable digital filter profiles, allowing for subtle adjustments to its sonic character. A robust toroidal transformer is incorporated to ensure a clean power supply, reducing noise and distortion.

This player provides standard analogue stereo outputs via RCA connectors. For those wishing to use an external digital-to-analogue converter, it also includes both optical and coaxial digital outputs. The display is a clear, reverse-black unit that supports CD-Text information.
