Introducing the 705 Signature and 702 Signature Models

The new 705 Signature and 702 Signature loudspeakers embody the same design philosophy as their predecessors. Like the previous Signature models, these new editions have been meticulously upgraded and finished to perfection, representing the pinnacle of Bowers & Wilkins' design, engineering, and manufacturing excellence. Special attention has been given to enhancing their acoustic performance through an upgraded crossover design, as well as to refining the luxurious new cabinet finish.

Originally launched in 2017, the Bowers & Wilkins 700 Series is renowned for its exceptional performance, drawing on technologies first introduced in the high-end 800 Series Diamond. Features such as the Solid Body Tweeter-on-Top assembly, unique Continuum cone drivers, and Aerofoil profile bass drivers contribute to the series’ outstanding sound quality. When combined with bespoke 700 Series technologies like the Carbon Dome tweeter and precision-engineered, rigid cabinets, the result is a range of loudspeakers that are as visually stunning as they are sonically impressive.

Continuing the Signature tradition, the 705 and 702 Signature models feature a striking new Datuk Gloss finish in an ebony-coloured veneer, distinguished by its unique, beautiful grain. This custom finish combines the elegance of exotic real-wood veneers with the environmental responsibility of a sustainably sourced supply, provided by the specialist Italian wood company Alpi.

Each pair of speakers is one-of-a-kind, with no two models sharing the same grain pattern or figuring. Bowers & Wilkins enhances Alpi's expert craftsmanship by applying nine coats of finish—including primer, base coat, and lacquer—to achieve a deep, lustrous appearance. To further emphasise the quality of the finish, both Signature models are adorned with bright metal trim rings around the mid/bass and midrange cones, as well as bright, silver-finished tweeter grilles. A Signature identity plate on the rear panel of each speaker adds the final touch, transforming each unit into a true, unique work of art.
