Arcam Alpha 9 Integrated Amplifier

We are pleased to offer for sale this used Arcam Alpha 9 Integrated Amplifier.

The outer packaging shows damage (front panel damaged with plastic cracked off, something was rattling inside / heatsink came loose). Pots needed cleaning with electrical switch cleaner. The unit has been professionally repackaged to ensure safe delivery with mains cable included.

Tested and in full working order. It is sold with a 3 month warranty.

The general cosmetic condition is poor. The front panel was cracked and broken on both sides and has been glued back together, and there are also some marks and scratches on the unit. Please see images for further details.

The Arcam Alpha 9 Integrated Amplifier is a well-respected piece of British audio engineering, first released in 1996. Building upon the foundations of Arcam's earlier Delta 290 model, it is recognised for its robust and engaging sound quality.

This amplifier offers a substantial 70 watts per channel into 8-ohm loads, utilising a high-current N-channel MOSFET output stage for dependable performance. It provides a comprehensive range of line-level RCA inputs for connecting various sources.

A notable aspect of the Alpha 9's design is its flexibility. It includes pre-out and power-in connections, enabling it to be integrated into larger systems or used as a dedicated preamplifier or power amplifier. The unit also features a "Processor" switch, offering a home cinema bypass function for seamless integration with AV receivers. Furthermore, the design facilitates bi-amplification by allowing the addition of a separate Arcam Alpha 9P power amplifier for enhanced speaker drive.
